Bahrain’s national carrier Gulf Air has placed a firm order for 15 Boeing 787 Dreamliners as part of its fleet expansion plans. The contract was signed by Gulf Air CEO Martin Gauss and Boeing Senior Vice President Brad McMullen.
This agreement formalizes a preliminary understanding reached during Crown Prince and Prime Minister Salman bin Hamad Al Khalifa’s official visit to Washington in July. With this latest order, the airline’s widebody fleet will total 17 Boeing 787 aircraft.
Gulf Air Group Chairman Khalid Hussain Taki stated that the signing ceremony represents an important step for the airline’s long-term growth plans, noting that the acquisition of the Boeing 787 Dreamliner will contribute to increased capacity, strengthened long-haul operations, improved flight quality, and enhanced sustainability.
